Pork Skewer: Barbecue or Plancha Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 lbs Pork Tenderloin, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1/4 cup Soy Sauce
- 1/4 cup Brown Sugar
- 2 tbsp Olive Oil
- 6 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1 tsp Black Pepper
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- Wooden Skewers, soaked in water for 30 minutes
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, olive oil, garlic, black pepper, and salt until well combined.
- Add pork cubes to the bowl with the marinade and stir until all pork pieces are coated in the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or up to overnight.
- Thread the pork cubes onto the skewers, leaving about 1/4 inch of space between each piece. Discard the leftover marinade.
- If using a barbecue: Preheat your barbecue to medium-high, oil the grill grates to prevent sticking, and place the skewers on the grill. Cook for 12-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until the pork is browned and cooked through.
- If using a plancha: Preheat your plancha to medium-high, lightly oil the cooking surface, and place the skewers on the plancha. Cook for 12-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until the pork is browned and cooked through.
- Remove skewers from the heat and serve hot.
Verdict:
These pork skewers are simple to make and yet so delicious! The marinade adds a sweet and savory flavor to the pork, and grilling or plancha cooking creates a nice crispy exterior while keeping the meat tender and juicy inside. Perfect for a backyard barbecue or as a main dish for any casual dinner party.
Serving Suggestions:
Serve the pork skewers with your choice of sides, such as a green salad, grilled veggies, or rice. Don’t forget to offer some dipping sauce, such as sweet and sour, barbecue, or chimichurri for added flavor. Enjoy!
