Potato and Mushroom Gratin: Gourmet Recipe

Ingredients:

  1. 4 medium-sized potatoes, sliced
  2. 1 cup button mushrooms, sliced
  3. 1 cup heavy cream
  4. 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  5. 2 cloves garlic, minced
  6. 1 tbsp butter
  7. 1 tsp salt
  8. 1/2 tsp black pepper

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat; add garlic and sauté for 1 minute.
  3. Add mushrooms and sauté until they are browned and tender.
  4. Layer sliced potatoes in the bottom of a large baking dish.
  5. Spread mushroom mixture over potatoes in an even layer.
  6. In a separate bowl, mix heavy cream, grated Parmesan cheese, salt, and black pepper.
  7. Pour cream mixture over the potatoes and mushrooms in the baking dish.
  8. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  9. Remove the foil and continue to bake for another 20-25 minutes, or until the top is browned and bubbly.
  10. Remove from the oven and cool for 5-10 minutes before serving.

Serving Suggestions:

This Potato and Mushroom Gratin can be served as a delicious side dish or as a main course for a vegetarian meal. It pairs well with grilled chicken or steak and a fresh garden salad.
