Skewers of Meatballs and Cheese Recipe

Ingredients

  • 500g ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 24 small cubes of mozzarella cheese
  • 24 wooden skewers, soaked in water for 30 minutes

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, parmesan cheese, egg, garlic, parsley, salt, and pepper.
  3. Form 24 meatballs using your hands. Each meatball should be about 3-4cm in diameter.
  4. Insert one cube of mozzarella cheese into the center of each meatball and reshape the meat around it, until the cheese is completely covered.
  5. Thread one meatball onto each skewer, leaving about 1cm of space between the meatball and the end of the skewer.
  6. Arrange the skewers onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 20-25 minutes or until cooked through, turning once halfway through cooking.

Serving Suggestions

Serve the skewers of meatballs and cheese as an appetizer or main course. They go great with a side of roasted vegetables or a salad.
