Stewed Pork Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 kg pork belly, cut into cubes
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 3 tbsp cooking oil

Instructions

  1. Heat the cooking oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the pork and cook until browned on all sides. Remove the pork from the pot and set aside.
  2. Add the onions and garlic to the same pot and sauté until softened.
  3. Add the red and green bell peppers and continue cooking for a few more minutes.
  4. Add the tomato paste, paprika, salt, and black pepper and cook for a minute while stirring continuously.
  5. Add the pork back into the pot and pour in the water. Add the bay leaves and bring to a boil.
  6. Lower the heat and simmer for 1 to 1 1/2 hours or until the pork is tender.
  7. Adjust seasoning to taste and serve hot.
