Stewed Pork Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 kg pork belly, cut into cubes
- 1 onion, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 2 cups water
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 3 tbsp cooking oil
Instructions
- Heat the cooking oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the pork and cook until browned on all sides. Remove the pork from the pot and set aside.
- Add the onions and garlic to the same pot and sauté until softened.
- Add the red and green bell peppers and continue cooking for a few more minutes.
- Add the tomato paste, paprika, salt, and black pepper and cook for a minute while stirring continuously.
- Add the pork back into the pot and pour in the water. Add the bay leaves and bring to a boil.
- Lower the heat and simmer for 1 to 1 1/2 hours or until the pork is tender.
- Adjust seasoning to taste and serve hot.
