Stuffed Patisson Recipe
Ingredients
- 4 medium-sized patissons
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 red bell pepper, chopped
- 1 cup cooked rice
- 1/4 cup chopped parsley
- 1/4 cup chopped basil
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- Cut the top of the patissons, scoop out the seeds and flesh with a spoon.
- Season the patissons inside with salt and pepper and place them in an oiled baking dish.
- Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the onion, garlic, and bell pepper, and cook until softened, about 6–8 minutes.
- Add the rice, parsley, basil, thyme, paprika, salt, and pepper, and stir until combined.
- Remove from heat and stir in the Parmesan cheese.
- Spoon the mixture inside each patisson, pressing it down slightly. Cover with the patisson lids.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the patissons are tender and lightly browned.
Serving Suggestions
Serve the stuffed patissons hot, garnished with additional chopped parsley and basil if desired. This dish makes for a perfect side for autumn meals and holiday dinners.
