Stuffed Patisson Recipe

Ingredients

  • 4 medium-sized patissons
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 red bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley
  • 1/4 cup chopped basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  2. Cut the top of the patissons, scoop out the seeds and flesh with a spoon.
  3. Season the patissons inside with salt and pepper and place them in an oiled baking dish.
  4. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the onion, garlic, and bell pepper, and cook until softened, about 6–8 minutes.
  5. Add the rice, parsley, basil, thyme, paprika, salt, and pepper, and stir until combined.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in the Parmesan cheese.
  7. Spoon the mixture inside each patisson, pressing it down slightly. Cover with the patisson lids.
  8. Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the patissons are tender and lightly browned.

Serving Suggestions

Serve the stuffed patissons hot, garnished with additional chopped parsley and basil if desired. This dish makes for a perfect side for autumn meals and holiday dinners.
