Avocado Hummus Recipe

This healthy and creamy dip is a delicious spin on traditional hummus. The addition of avocado gives it extra creaminess and a nutty flavor. This recipe is perfect for snacks, appetizers, and on-the-go meals.

Ingredients

  • 1 large avocado, pitted and peeled
  • 1 15 oz can of chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp of tahini paste
  • 1/4 cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp of olive oil
  • 1/4 tsp of cumin
  • 1/4 tsp of smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 cup of water

Instructions

  1. In a food processor, add avocado, chickpeas, garlic, tahini paste, lemon juice, olive oil, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
  2. Pulse the mixture until well-combined.
  3. Add water gradually while pulsing, until the mixture reaches the desired consistency.
  4. Taste and adjust seasonings, if needed.
  5. Transfer to a serving dish and drizzle with olive oil.

Serving Suggestions

Avocado hummus can be served with pita bread, crackers, vegetables (such as sliced cucumber, carrot, and bell peppers), or tortilla chips. It can also be used as a spread for sandwiches or wraps. Enjoy!
