Focaccia Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon of active dry yeast
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of salt
  • 1 cup of warm water
  • 1/2 cup of extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon of dried rosemary (or any other herb of your choice)

Directions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt. Mix well.
  2. Add the warm water and 1/4 cup olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough for 10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  4. Grease a baking sheet with 1/4 cup olive oil.
  5. Place the dough on the baking sheet and push it down to spread it out.
  6. Cover the dough and let it rise for 1 hour.
  7. Preheat the oven to 425°F.
  8. Using your fingers, press dimples into the dough.
  9. Drizzle the remaining olive oil over the top of the dough and sprinkle with dried rosemary.
  10. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  11. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
