Cheese Naan Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. active dry yeast
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 tbsp. sugar
  • 1/2 cup lukewarm water
  • 1/4 cup yogurt
  • 2 tbsp. oil
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (mozzarella or cheddar)
  • 4 tbsp. melted butter

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, salt, sugar and yeast. Stir it well.
  2. Add lukewarm water, yogurt, and oil mixing thoroughly. Knead the dough until smooth and soft.
  3. Add cheese to the dough and knead again until it’s fully combined.
  4. Cover the bowl with a damp cloth and leave it for 2-3 hours to rise. It should double in size.
  5. Divide the dough into small balls, dust the surface of your counter with flour, and roll out each ball with a rolling pin to form a circle.
  6. Preheat the oven to 400F. Grease a baking pan and set it aside.
  7. Brush each circle with melted butter and place them on the baking pan.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the cheese starts bubbling and the edges of naan are slightly golden brown.
  9. Remove from the oven and brush the tops with more melted butter.
  10. Serve hot and enjoy.
