Crispy Chicken, Apple and Walnut Turnovers Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups cooked shredded chicken
  • 1 medium apple, peeled and chopped
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp black pepper
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 egg, beaten

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine shredded chicken, chopped apple, chopped walnuts, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
  3. Unfold puff pastry and cut into 4 squares. Spoon chicken mixture onto the center of each square. Fold the pastry over the filling to form a triangle. Use a fork to press and seal the edges.
  4. Brush the tops of each turnover with beaten egg.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown.
  6. Remove from oven and let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
