Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp rose water
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 2 egg yolks
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- A pinch of salt
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, sift together the flour, powdered sugar, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
- In a separate bowl, cream the butter until fluffy. Add the egg yolks, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the rose water.
- Add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk, starting and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
- Knead the dough just until it comes together, then roll it out to 1/4 inch thickness. Use a cookie cutter to cut out the cookies into desired shapes.
- Place the cookies onto the prepared baking sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges just start to brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
