Fennel Au Gratin Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 large fennel bulbs, thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Remove the stems and fronds from the fennel bulbs, then thinly slice them crosswise.
- Place the sliced fennel in a large bowl and add the olive oil, minced garlic, salt and pepper. Mix well until the fennel is coated.
- In a separate bowl, mix the Parmesan cheese, bread crumbs and heavy cream.
- In a 9 x 13 inch baking dish, layer the fennel slices in an even layer. Pour the cheese and cream mixture over the fennel.
- Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
