Fresh Tomato Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 6-8 ripe tomatoes
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup of olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon of sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of freshly chopped basil

Instructions:

  1. Bring a pot of water to a boil and blanch the tomatoes for 30 seconds.
  2. Remove the tomatoes and let them cool down.
  3. Peel the skin off the tomatoes and cut them into small chunks.
  4. In a saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat and add the minced garlic. Cook for 1-2 minutes, until the garlic is fragrant.
