Lasagna Bolognese
Ingredients
- 1 lb. lasagna noodles
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can tomato sauce (15 oz.)
- 1 can diced tomatoes (14 oz.)
- 1 tsp. dried basil
- 1 tsp. dried oregano
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. black pepper
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Rinse with cold water and set aside.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned. Add onion and garlic and continue cooking until onion is soft.
- Add tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, basil, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 15-20 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, mix ricotta cheese, egg, and Parmesan cheese.
- Spread a little bit of the meat sauce in the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Place a layer of lasagna noodles on top of the sauce.
- Spread a layer of the ricotta cheese mixture over the noodles.
- Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top of the ricotta cheese mixture.
- Add a layer of meat sauce on top of the mozzarella cheese.
- Repeat layers until all ingredients are used, ending with a layer of meat sauce and mozzarella cheese on top.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake for an additional 25-30 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let lasagna cool for a few minutes before serving.
