Potato Dumplings Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 4 medium-sized potatoes
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs (optional)
  • 4 cups boiling water

Directions:

  1. Peel and chop the potatoes into small pieces. Boil them in a pot of salted water until they’re soft, then drain and mash them in a bowl.
  2. Add the egg, salt, and black pepper to the mashed potatoes and mix well.
  3. Add the flour a little at a time, mixing until the dough is thick and sticky.
  4. Take a small amount of dough and shape it into a ball. Repeat until all the dough is used up.
  5. Roll the dumplings in breadcrumbs (optional) and set them aside.
  6. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the dumplings and boil for about 5-8 minutes or until they float to the surface.
  7. Remove the dumplings with a slotted spoon and let them drain on a plate.
