Spicy Beef Noodles

This is a world recipe that blends the flavors of Asia and America. It’s easy to prepare and can be adjusted to suit your spice level.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. beef sirloin, sliced into thin strips
  • 1 tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 1 red onion, sliced thinly
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 red chili, sliced thinly
  • 1 tbsp. ginger, grated
  • 2 tbsp. soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp. dark soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp. oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp. sugar
  • 1/4 cup chicken stock
  • 1 lb. fresh noodles, cooked and drained

Instructions

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a wok or frying pan over high heat.
  2. Add the beef and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes or until browned and cooked to your liking. Remove the beef from the pan and set aside.
  3. Add the onion, garlic, chili and ginger to the wok or pan. Stir-fry for 1-2 minutes or until the onion is soft.
  4. Add the cooked beef back into the wok or pan.
  5. In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, dark soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar and chicken stock.
  6. Pour the sauce over the beef and vegetables. Stir-fry for a further 1-2 minutes or until heated through and the sauce has thickened slightly.
  7. Add the cooked fresh noodles to the wok or pan. Stir-fry for 1-2 minutes or until the noodles are heated through and coated in the sauce.
  8. Transfer the spicy beef noodles to serving bowls.
