Star Cookies Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- Star-shaped cookie cutters
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy, using a hand mixer or a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment.
- Add the egg and pure vanilla extract and mix until combined.
- In another mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
- Sift the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Divide the dough into two portions and form each into a disc. Wrap each disc in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- Once chilled, roll out one portion of the dough on a lightly floured surface to a thickness of about ¼ inch. Use the star-shaped cookie cutters to cut out the cookies and transfer them to the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 1 inch of space between each cookie.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Repeat the process with the remaining portion of the dough until all of the cookies are baked.
Verdict:
These star cookies are perfect for any occasion. They are simple to make, yet look impressive and taste heavenly. With a buttery and slightly crisp texture, they melt in your mouth with every bite.
Serving Suggestions:
