Stuffed calamari – Delicious


Stuffed Calamari

This delicious recipe is perfect as a main course for a fancy dinner party or a romantic evening for two.

Ingredients:

  • 4 large calamari tubes
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup minced parsley
  • 1/4 cup minced onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. In a medium bowl, combine breadcrumbs, parmesan cheese, minced parsley, onion, garlic, egg, milk, and salt and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.
  2. Clean calamari tubes and remove any remaining innards and tentacles. Rinse well and pat dry with a paper towel.
  3. Using a small spoon, carefully fill each calamari tube with the breadcrumb mixture until about 2/3 full. Be careful not to overfill the tubes as the stuffing will expand during cooking.
  4. Secure the open end of each tube with a toothpick or skewer.
  5. Season the outside of each stuffed calamari tube with a pinch of salt and pepper.
  6. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the stuffed calamari tubes to the skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
  7. Remove the calamari tubes from the skillet and serve hot.
