Stuffed Calamari
This delicious recipe is perfect as a main course for a fancy dinner party or a romantic evening for two.
Ingredients:
- 4 large calamari tubes
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup minced parsley
- 1/4 cup minced onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
- In a medium bowl, combine breadcrumbs, parmesan cheese, minced parsley, onion, garlic, egg, milk, and salt and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.
- Clean calamari tubes and remove any remaining innards and tentacles. Rinse well and pat dry with a paper towel.
- Using a small spoon, carefully fill each calamari tube with the breadcrumb mixture until about 2/3 full. Be careful not to overfill the tubes as the stuffing will expand during cooking.
- Secure the open end of each tube with a toothpick or skewer.
- Season the outside of each stuffed calamari tube with a pinch of salt and pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the stuffed calamari tubes to the skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
- Remove the calamari tubes from the skillet and serve hot.
Verdict:
This stuffed calamari recipe is a must-try for seafood lovers. The breadcrumb mixture adds a delicious crunch to the tender calamari tubes and the parmesan cheese and parsley mixture adds a depth of flavor that will leave your guests begging for seconds!
