Almond Biscotti – Treat

Almond Biscotti Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup sliced almonds

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, and beat until well combined. Stir in vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually stir in the flour mixture until the dough comes together. Fold in sliced almonds.
  5. Divide the dough into two equal parts. Shape each part into a log about 12 inches long and 2 inches wide. Place the two logs on the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 3 inches of space between them.
  6. Bake for about 25 minutes or until the logs are lightly golden brown. Remove the baking sheet from the oven and let the logs cool for about 10 minutes.
  7. Using a serrated knife, cut each log diagonally into 1/2-inch-wide slices. Place the slices back onto the baking sheet and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the biscotti are crispy and golden brown. Turn the biscotti once during baking to ensure even browning.
  8. Remove the biscotti from the oven and let them cool for about 5 minutes on the baking sheet. Then transfer them onto a wire rack to cool completely.

Verdict:

This recipe produces a crunchy and nutty almond biscotti that is perfect for tea time or as a treat for any time of day. The sweetness level is just right, and the slices hold their shape well, making it easy to dunk them into your favorite hot beverage.

Serving Suggestions:

Enjoy the almond biscotti on its own or pair it with a cup of coffee or tea. It also makes a great dessert when served with a scoop of ice cream or a drizzle of chocolate sauce.
