Apple, Cherry and Almond Pie – Régal
Ingredients:
- 1 pie crust (homemade or store-bought)
- 2 cups sliced apples
- 2 cups pitted fresh cherries
- 1/2 cup almonds, roughly chopped
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine apples, cherries and almonds.
- In another mixing bowl, whisk together sugar, flour, cinnamon and salt. Gradually add melted butter and stir until mixture forms into a paste.
- Add mixture to the fruit, toss until evenly coated.
- Roll out pie crust and place it in a 9-inch pie dish.
- Place fruit mixture on top of the pie crust and level it off with a spatula.
- Cover the fruit with another pie crust or lattice strips.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.
- Remove from oven and let it cool for 10 minutes before serving.
