Apple, Cherry and Almond Pie – Régal

Ingredients:

  • 1 pie crust (homemade or store-bought)
  • 2 cups sliced apples
  • 2 cups pitted fresh cherries
  • 1/2 cup almonds, roughly chopped
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine apples, cherries and almonds.
  3. In another mixing bowl, whisk together sugar, flour, cinnamon and salt. Gradually add melted butter and stir until mixture forms into a paste.
  4. Add mixture to the fruit, toss until evenly coated.
  5. Roll out pie crust and place it in a 9-inch pie dish.
  6. Place fruit mixture on top of the pie crust and level it off with a spatula.
  7. Cover the fruit with another pie crust or lattice strips.
  8. Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.
  9. Remove from oven and let it cool for 10 minutes before serving.
