Apple crisps – Treat

Apple Crisps – Treat Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 large apples
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, cold and cut into small pieces
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. salt

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. Peel and core the apples, then slice them thinly. Place the slices in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet and set aside.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together the flour, brown sugar, oats, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
  4. Add the cold butter and use your fingers to mix everything together until crumbly. The mixture should look like coarse sand with pea-sized clumps.
  5. Sprinkle the crumbly mixture over the apple slices.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the topping is crisp and golden brown, and the apples are softened but still slightly firm. You can test the apples by inserting a knife through them – they should be tender but not mushy.
  7. Remove from the oven and let the apple crisps cool for a few minutes before serving.

Verdict:

These apple crisps are a delicious and healthy treat that’s perfect for any time of day. The sweet and crunchy topping works perfectly with the tender slices of apple, creating a satisfying snack that’s hard to resist.

Serving suggestions:

For an extra bit of indulgence, serve the apple crisps with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream. You can also drizzle some caramel sauce on top for a decadent dessert. Enjoy!
