Apple Pancake: Gourmet Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup grated apple
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, and vanilla. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Stir in the grated apple.
- In a large nonstick skillet over medium heat, add 1 tablespoon of butter. Once melted, ladle 1/4 cup of the batter onto the skillet for each pancake. Once the pancakes have formed bubbles, flip them and cook until golden brown on both sides, about 2-3 minutes per side. Repeat with the remaining batter.
- Once all the pancakes are cooked, stack them on top of each other and serve hot. Optional: serve with whipped cream and additional grated apple on top.
Verdict:
This apple pancake recipe is a delicious twist on the classic breakfast dish. The grated apple adds a subtle sweetness and crunch to the pancakes, while the cinnamon and nutmeg give them a warm, cozy flavor perfect for a fall morning. They’re easy to make and oh-so-tasty – you won’t be able to resist a second (or third!) serving.
Serving suggestion:
Serve these apple pancakes with a cup of hot coffee or tea and a side of crispy bacon or sausage for a hearty, satisfying breakfast. Alternatively, they also make a great dessert – top with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce for a decadent treat.
