Apple, Pear, Orange Strudel

Ingredients

  • 2 apples, peeled and diced
  • 2 pears, peeled and diced
  • 1 orange, zested and juiced
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 6 sheets phyllo dough
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1/4 cup bread crumbs

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. In a large bowl, combine diced apples, pears, orange juice, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  3. On a clean surface, lay out one sheet of phyllo dough and brush with melted butter. Sprinkle with bread crumbs. Repeat with remaining sheets of phyllo dough.
  4. Spoon apple and pear mixture onto the phyllo dough, leaving about 1 inch of space around the edges. Fold in the side edges and roll the phyllo dough like a log, tucking in the edges as you go.
  5. Place the strudel on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and brush with melted butter.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
