Biscuits with Candied Fruits Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup candied fruits, chopped (mix of glaced cherries, mixed peel, and crystallized ginger)
- 1/4 cup milk
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs and vanilla extract, and mix until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Add dry ingredients to wet mixture, alternating with milk, until dough is formed. Mix in chopped candied fruits.
- Roll out dough on a floured surface to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut out biscuits using a cookie cutter or a glass. Place on a prepared baking sheet.
