Bolognese Ragout Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 500 g beef mince
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 can (400 g) chopped tomatoes
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried basil
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper
- 500 g spaghetti
- Grated Parmesan cheese, to serve
Instructions:
- Heat olive oil in a large frying pan over medium heat.
- Add onion and garlic, and cook until softened and translucent, stirring occasionally.
- Add beef mince and cook until browned, breaking up any lumps with a wooden spoon.
- Stir in tomato paste, chopped tomatoes, oregano, basil, salt and pepper.
- Reduce heat to low and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Cook spaghetti in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente, according to package instructions.
- Drain spaghetti and add it to the pan with the ragout.
- Toss well to combine, and serve hot with grated Parmesan cheese on top.
