Ingredients

  • 12 dried figs, stemmed and chopped
  • 1/2 cup Vacherin Mont-d’Or AOP, grated
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 12 sheets phyllo dough
  • 1/4 cup olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the chopped figs, grated Vacherin Mont-d’Or AOP, butter, cinnamon, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
  2. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  3. Place a sheet of phyllo dough on a work surface and brush it with oil. Repeat with the remaining sheets.
  4. Cut the stacked phyllo sheets into 12 equal rectangles.
  5. Place a tablespoon of the filling onto the center of each rectangle.
  6. Fold the corners of each rectangle inward, wrapping the filling inside like a package. Press the edges together to seal.
  7. Place the bricks onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
