Butter and Jam Cookies Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup jam (flavor of your choice)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar together with an electric mixer until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the flour and salt and mix until just combined.
  4. Divide the dough into 24 portions and roll each portion into a ball.
  5. Place the dough balls on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  6. Using the end of a wooden spoon or your thumb, make a small indentation in the center of each dough ball.
  7. Fill each indentation with a small dollop of jam.
  8. Bake for 15-18 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden brown.
  9. Remove from the oven and allow to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
