Cake with Three Milks Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 5 large eggs
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease a 9×13 inch cake pan and set aside.
- In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt. Set aside.
- Separate egg whites from yolks. In a large mixing bowl, beat egg yolks with sugar until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and milk. Gradually add flour mixture, stirring until combined.
- In a separate bowl, beat egg whites until stiff peaks form. Fold egg whites into cake batter until incorporated.
- Pour cake batter into prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes or until cake tester comes out clean.
- While cake is baking, combine evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk and heavy cream in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture is heated through.
- Once cake is cooked, remove from oven and poke holes all over it using a fork. Pour three-milk mixture over the cake, making sure it gets into all the holes. Let cake cool completely in the pan.
- Once cake is cooled, refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight. Serve chilled.
