Caramel Fondue Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. Begin by placing the sugar in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Stir constantly with a whisk until the sugar melts and lumps form, then gradually continue to add in the rest of the sugar until it is all melted.
  3. Once the sugar is melted, let it cook until it turns a rich amber color, stirring occasionally. This will take approximately 5 minutes.
  4. Add in the butter and whisk until it’s melted, then slowly pour in the cream while whisking constantly. The mixture will bubble up quite a bit, so be careful!
  5. Once the cream is fully combined, add in the salt and vanilla extract and stir until it’s well mixed, then remove from heat.
  6. Transfer the caramel to a fondue pot and serve immediately with sliced fruit and pound cake.
