Chantilly, Pear & Chocolate Cake
Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
- 2 ripe pears, peeled, cored and thinly sliced
- Chocolate shavings for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease a 9-inch (23cm) springform cake pan and line the bottom with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate large bowl, beat the sugar and oil until well combined. Add in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract, and mix until smooth.
