Ingredients:

  • 6-8 slices of white bread
  • 5-6 medium-sized apples, peeled, cored and thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 1/2 cup of unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp of cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup of raisins (optional)
  • 1/4 cup of chopped walnuts or almonds (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Brush a round cake pan with melted butter or spray with non-stick cooking spray.
  3. Cut the crusts off the bread slices and set them aside.
  4. Cut the remaining bread slices into long strips, about one inch in width.
