Cheese Fritters Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh chives
  • Vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and black pepper.
  2. In a separate mixing bowl, whisk together milk and egg.
  3. Add the milk and egg mixture to the dry ingredients and stir until the batter is smooth.
  4. Stir in the shredded cheese and chopped chives.
  5. In a deep pot or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil to 350°F.
  6. Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop balls of batter into the hot oil, 3-4 at a time.
  7. Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.
  8. Remove fritters from oil using a slotted spoon and let drain on paper towels.
  9. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.
