Chick Pea Paste Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 can of chick peas (15 oz)
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon of tahini
  • 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon of cumin
  • 2-3 tablespoons of water (depending on desired consistency)
  • Paprika and/or parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Drain and rinse the chick peas.
  2. In a food processor or a blender, combine the chick peas, garlic, olive oil, tahini, lemon juice, salt, and cumin.
  3. Pulse until smooth.
  4. Add the water and continue pulsing until desired consistency is achieved.
  5. Transfer the chickpea paste to a serving bowl and sprinkle with paprika and/or parsley if desired.
  6. Chill for at least an hour before serving to allow the flavors to meld together.
