Chicken puff pastry: chef's recipe


Chicken Puff Pastry

Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons of Olive Oil
  • 1 large Onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 2 cups of Cooked Chicken, shredded
  • 1/4 cup of Flour
  • 1 teaspoon of Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of Black Pepper
  • 1 cup of Chicken Broth
  • 1/2 cup of Heavy Cream
  • 1 sheet of Puff Pastry, thawed
  • 1 Egg, beaten

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
  2. In a large pan, heat Olive Oil, then sauté Onion and Garlic until Onion is tender and Garlic is fragrant.
  3. Add shredded Chicken, Flour, Salt, and Black Pepper. Then stir until the mixture is combined.
  4. Pour in Chicken Broth and Heavy Cream. Continue to stir until the mixture is blended and thickened.
  5. Using a rolling pin, roll out the Puff Pastry to make it even and thin.
  6. Cut it into 4 equal squares.
  7. Place 1/4 of the Chicken mixture in the center of each square of Puff Pastry.
  8. Brush the edges of the Puff Pastry squares with Egg wash.
  9. Fold the Puff Pastry over the Chicken mixture to make a triangle-shaped pocket. Press the edges to seal.
  10. Place the Chicken Puff Pastry triangles onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  11. Brush the tops with remaining Egg wash.
  12. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden and crispy.
  13. Remove from oven and let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
