Chiffon Cake Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 3 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 7 egg yolks
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 7 egg whites
  • 1/2 tsp cream of tartar

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F.
  2. In a large bowl, sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Make a well in the center and add vegetable oil, egg yolks, water, and vanilla extract.
  4. Stir until smooth.
  5. In a separate bowl, beat egg whites until foamy.
  6. Add cream of tartar and continue to beat until stiff peaks form.

  8. Pour batter into an ungreased 10-inch tube pan.
  9. Bake for 55-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  10. Invert the pan onto a wire rack and let cool completely before removing from pan.
