Chocolate flan – Delicious

Chocolate Flan Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 can (12 ounces) evaporated milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).
  2. In a small saucepan, melt 1/2 cup of sugar over medium-high heat, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon until the sugar turns into a caramel. This should take about 6-8 minutes. Be careful not to burn the caramel.
  3. Pour the caramel into a 9-inch round cake pan, tilting it to coat the bottom and sides evenly. Set aside for now.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, beat the eggs until fluffy and light yellow.
  5. Add the remaining sugar, sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, vanilla extract, and chocolate chips. Mix them well until the chocolate chips are melted and the batter becomes smooth.
  6. Pour the batter over the caramel-coated cake pan.
  7. Place the cake pan in a large roasting pan and pour enough hot water into the roasting pan to reach halfway up the sides of the cake pan.
  8. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a knife inserted in the center of the flan comes out clean.
  9. Remove from the oven and let cool to room temperature.
  10. Refrigerate for at least 2-3 hours, or overnight.
  11. To serve, run a knife around the edge of the flan to loosen it, then invert it onto a large plate. The caramel will drizzle down the sides of the flan.

Verdict: This chocolate flan is a rich, creamy, and decadent dessert that will satisfy any sweet tooth. The chocolate chips add a delicious twist to the classic flan recipe, making it even more irresistible.

Serving suggestions: Top with fresh berries or whipped cream for an extra touch of sweetness. Serve chilled or at room temperature.
