Chocolate Hazelnut Soufflé Crepe Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 3 large eggs, separated
  • 1/4 cup hazelnut spread
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • Butter or cooking spray, for the pan
  • Confectioners’ sugar, for dusting (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, and salt.
  2. Add the milk, egg yolks, hazelnut spread, and vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth.
  3. In another medium bowl, beat the egg whites and cream of tartar with an electric mixer until stiff peaks form.
  4. Gently fold the egg whites into the crepe batter until no white streaks remain.
  5. Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat. Add a small amount of butter or cooking spray to the pan.
  6. Using a 1/4 cup measuring cup, pour batter onto the pan, swirling to create an even circle. Cook on one side for 1-2 minutes, then flip and cook for an additional minute. Repeat with remaining batter.
  7. Serve the crepes immediately, dusted with confectioners’ sugar and a dollop of hazelnut spread, if desired.
