Chocolate Ice Cream and Cookies Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chopped chocolate cookies

Instructions:

  1. In a saucepan, stir together heavy cream, whole milk, sugar, cocoa powder, and salt. Cook over low heat until sugar dissolves and the mixture is hot but not boiling. Remove the saucepan from the heat.
  2. In a bowl, whisk egg yolks until light and frothy. Pour a little bit of the hot milk mixture into the yolks, whisking constantly to avoid curdling.
  3. Slowly pour the egg mixture back into the saucepan, whisking constantly. Cook the mixture over low heat, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon or spatula, until thick enough to coat the back of the spoon or spatula. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
  4. Let the mixture cool down completely, then refrigerate until chilled.
  5. Churn the mixture in an ice cream maker according to the manufacturer’s instructions. During the last few minutes of churning, add the chopped chocolate cookies.
  6. Transfer the ice cream to a container and freeze for a few hours until firm.
  7. Serve and enjoy the delicious chocolate ice cream and cookies!

Serving Suggestions:

Serve the chocolate ice cream and cookies in bowls or cones. Drizzle some chocolate sauce or hot fudge on top of the ice cream for an extra decadent treat. Enjoy with a glass of cold milk or coffee.
