Chocolate mousse: clementine dessert (4 steps)

Chocolate Mousse: Clementine Dessert

Ingredients

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped
  • 3 large egg whites
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 clementines, peeled and separated into sections

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, bring the heavy cream to a simmer over medium heat. Remove from heat and add the chopped chocolate. Whisk until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat the egg whites with an electric mixer until foamy. Add the cream of tartar and continue beating until stiff peaks form. Gradually add sugar while continuing to beat until the mixture is glossy and stiff peaks hold.
  3. Fold the egg whites into the chocolate mixture until just combined. Be careful not to overmix. Divide the mousse among 4 dessert glasses and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or until set.
  4. Before serving, top each glass with clementine sections. Serve and enjoy!

Verdict

This chocolate mousse is incredible! It’s rich, velvety, and has just the right amount of sweetness, making it the perfect dessert for any occasion. The addition of clementine sections adds a bright and fresh contrast to the deep and decadent mousse.
