Chocolate Salami Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 200g dark chocolate, finely chopped
  • 100g unsalted butter, cut into small cubes
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
  • 1/2 cup dried fruit (optional)
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions:

  1. In a medium bowl, melt the chocolate and butter together in the microwave or using a double boiler. Stir until smooth and set aside to cool.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the sugar and eggs until light and foamy in texture.
  3. Add the cooled chocolate mixture to the egg and sugar mixture and whisk well.
  4. Add the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and vanilla extract to the mixture and stir until everything is well combined.
  5. Add the chopped nuts and dried fruit (if using) and mix them into the chocolate mixture.
  6. Cut a sheet of parchment paper and lay it flat on a clean surface. Pour the chocolate mixture on top of the parchment paper.
  7. Form the mixture into a log shape by rolling up the parchment paper tightly around the chocolate mixture. Twist the ends of the paper tightly to seal.
  8. Refrigerate the log for at least 3 hours or until it is firm enough to slice.
  9. Remove the log from the refrigerator and unwrap the paper. Dust the log with powdered sugar and slice it into rounds using a sharp knife.
