Christophe Michalak’s Chocolate Cake Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 350g dark chocolate (at least 65% cocoa)
  • 5 eggs
  • 150g Caster sugar
  • 110g Butter
  • 75g Plain flour

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven at 150°C (th. 4-5).
  2. In a bowl, break 350g of dark chocolate into pieces and add 110g of butter.
  3. Melt them in a double-boiler until you get a smooth mixture.
  4. In another bowl, whisk 5 eggs with 150g of caster sugar until light and fluffy.
  5. Sift in 75g of plain flour and fold gently.
  6. Add the melted chocolate and mix gently until homogenous.
  7. Line a 24cm diameter cake tin with baking paper and pour the mixture in.
  8. Bake for 25 min.
  9. Take out of the oven and let cool. Once cooled, place it in the fridge for at least 2 hours before serving.
