Cinnamon puff pastry

Cinnamon Puff Pastry Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 package (1 pound) frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F.
  2. Unwrap the thawed puff pastry and roll it out into a rectangle on a lightly floured surface. Ideally, you want it to be about 1/8 inch thick.
  3. In a small bowl, combine the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon.
  4. Using a pastry brush, spread melted butter all over the puff pastry, making sure to get all the way to the edges.
  5. Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture evenly over the buttered pastry.
  6. Working from one end, tightly roll up the pastry until you have a long spiral log.
  7. Using a sharp knife, slice the log into 1/2 inch sections.
  8. Place the cinnamon puff pastry pieces onto a lined baking sheet with a few inches in between each piece.
  9. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy on the outside.
  10. Remove from oven and allow to cool for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely (or enjoy them while they are still warm and decadent!)

Serving Suggestions:

Cinnamon puff pastry is a great treat for any time of day, but it’s especially good as a breakfast or brunch pastry. Serve alongside a cup of piping hot coffee or tea and enjoy the sweet, buttery goodness.
