Ingredients:

  • 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 ½ sticks cold butter, cut into small pieces
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 tbsp. ice water
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 1 tbsp. vegetable oil
  • Coarse sea salt

Directions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and cocoa. Mix well.
  2. Add butter and use your hands, or a pastry cutter, to combine the ingredients until the mixture becomes crumbly.
  3. In a separate small bowl, whisk together egg yolks and ice water until combined.
  4. Pour the egg mixture into the large mixing bowl and stir until a dough has formed.
  5. Flatten the dough into a disc shape, then wrap in plastic and chill in the refrigerator for at least an hour.
  6. Preheat the oven to 375°F. Roll the dough out onto a lightly floured surface until it is about 1/8 inch thick.
  7. Using a cookie cutter or circle-shaped cup, cut small circles out of the dough and place them into a mini tartlet pan. Prick the bottom of each circle a few times with a fork.
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Allow the tartlets to cool in the pan before removing them.
  9. In a small microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips with vegetable oil in 30-second increments, stirring in between each interval.
  10. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and spread a thin layer of melted chocolate onto it. Sprinkle the chocolate with coarse sea salt.
  11. Once the tartlets are cooled, drizzle them with the remaining melted chocolate and sprinkle with coarse sea salt. Serve with the chocolate crisps on the side.
