Crispy Sardine Rolls with Cream Cheese
A delicious appetizer that is easy to make and perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 1 can of sardines
- 1 package of cream cheese
- 1/4 cup of green onions, chopped
- 1/4 cup of breadcrumbs
- 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 10-12 egg roll wrappers
- 1 egg, beaten
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine the sardines (with bones and skin removed), cream cheese, green onions, breadcrumbs, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Place an egg roll wrapper on a clean surface with one of the corners pointing towards you.
- Add about a tablespoon of the sardine mixture onto the center of the wrapper.
- Take the corner closest to you and fold it over the mixture.
- Roll the wrapper up halfway, then fold in the sides.
- Brush the remaining corner with the beaten egg and roll up the rest of the way to seal.
- Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.
- In a frying pan, heat enough oil to cover the rolls over medium-high heat.
- Add a few rolls at a time and fry until golden brown and crispy on all sides, about 2-3 minutes.
- Remove from the oil with a slotted spoon and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
