Easter nest: gourmet recipe (4 steps)

Easter Nest: Gourmet Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup butter, cold and cut into small pieces
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 tbsp ice water
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 2 cups chow mein noodles
  • 1 cup mini marshmallows
  • 1 cup peanut butter eggs or candy-coated eggs

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt. Add cold butter and mix with a pastry cutter until the mixture is crumbly.
  2. Add the egg yolk and ice water and mix until a dough is formed. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  3. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease a muffin tin. Roll out the dough and cut circles big enough to fit into the muffin tins. Using a fork, prick the dough a few times and bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool completely.
  4. Melt both chocolate chips in a double boiler over low heat. Once the chocolate is melted, add the chow mein noodles and mini marshmallows, stirring until everything is evenly coated.
  5. Scoop the chocolate mixture into the cooled nests, filling each nest about 3/4 of the way full. Add a few peanut butter eggs or candy-coated eggs to each nest. Allow to cool for at least 30 minutes or until the chocolate has hardened. Remove from the muffin tin and serve.

Verdict:

This gourmet Easter Nest recipe is the perfect treat to make for your family and friends during the Easter season. Not only is it easy to make, but it also looks and tastes amazing! The chocolate mixture is rich and sweet, while the peanut butter eggs or candy-coated eggs add a nice crunch and burst of flavor.
