Easy Homemade Brioche Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 large eggs, room temperature

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, microwave the milk until just warm, about 45 seconds.
  3. Add the melted butter and eggs to the milk and whisk to combine.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until a sticky dough forms.
  5. Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  6. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
  7. Punch the dough down and divide it into 8 equal parts.
  8. Shape each part into a ball and place them in a greased 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  9. Cover the pan with a towel and let it rise in a warm place for another 45 minutes, or until the dough has risen about 1 inch over the top of the pan.
  10. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  11. Bake the brioche for 20-25 minutes, or until light golden brown on top.
  12. Let the brioche cool in the pan for 10 minutes before removing it to a wire rack to cool completely.
