Focaccia Recipe
Ingredients:
- 3 cups of all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon of active dry yeast
- 1 tablespoon of sugar
- 1 tablespoon of salt
- 1 cup of warm water
- 1/2 cup of extra-virgin olive oil
- 1 tablespoon of dried rosemary (or any other herb of your choice)
Directions:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt. Mix well.
- Add the warm water and 1/4 cup olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough for 10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
- Grease a baking sheet with 1/4 cup olive oil.
- Place the dough on the baking sheet and push it down to spread it out.
- Cover the dough and let it rise for 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 425°F.
- Using your fingers, press dimples into the dough.
- Drizzle the remaining olive oil over the top of the dough and sprinkle with dried rosemary.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
