Garlic prawns: chef's recipe (3 steps – 30 min)

Garlic Prawns Recipe

Ingredients

  • 500 g prawns, peeled and deveined
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley

Directions

  1. Combine garlic, smoked paprika, oregano, cayenne, salt, pepper, and olive oil in a large bowl. Add prawns and toss to coat evenly.
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add prawns and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they turn pink. Remove prawns from skillet and set aside.
  3. Add white wine to the skillet and cook for 1-2 minutes, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Add prawns back to the skillet and toss to coat with the sauce. Sprinkle chopped parsley on top and serve immediately.

Verdict

The garlic prawns are flavorful and succulent. The combination of garlic, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper gives them a spicy kick while the white wine sauce adds a subtle tanginess. With minimal ingredients and quick cooking time, this recipe is perfect for any impromptu dinner party.

Serving Suggestions

Serve with a side of crusty bread to soak up the flavorful sauce or over a bed of rice or pasta. A refreshing salad with tangy dressing pairs perfectly with this dish. For a fancier presentation, garnish with lemon wedges and sprigs of fresh herbs.
