Grand-Marnier soufflé – Delicious

Grand-Marnier Soufflé Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, plus additional for greasing the ramekins
  • 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 4 large egg yolks
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup Grand-Marnier liqueur
  • 6 large egg whites
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • Confectioners’ sugar for dusting

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F. Grease six 8-ounce ramekins with butter and dust with sugar.
  2. Melt 4 tablespoons of butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add the flour and whisk for 2 minutes. Gradually whisk in the milk and continue to whisk until the mixture thickens, about 3 to 4 minutes. Remove from the heat and let cool for a few minutes.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk the egg yolks and sugar together until pale and thick. Gradually whisk in the Grand-Marnier liqueur. Add the cooled milk mixture and whisk until smooth.
  4. In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites with an electric mixer until frothy. Add the cream of tartar and continue to beat until stiff peaks form.
  5. Gently fold the egg whites into the Grand-Marnier mixture, being careful not to overmix.
  6. Spoon the mixture into the prepared ramekins, filling them up to 3/4 full. Smooth the tops with a spatula.
  7. Bake the soufflés until they are puffed and golden brown on top, about 18 to 20 minutes. Dust with confectioners’ sugar and serve immediately.

Serving suggestions:

Serve the Grand-Marnier soufflés immediately with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. They are best enjoyed warm, straight out of the oven.
