Ha Kao: Easy Shrimp Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cups peeled and deveined shrimp
- 1/2 cup bamboo shoots
- 1/4 cup diced water chestnuts
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon white pepper
- 20-25 wonton wrappers
Directions:
- Chop the shrimp into small pieces and combine with the bamboo shoots, water chestnuts, and green onions in a bowl
- Mix in the soy sauce, cornstarch, sesame oil, salt, and white pepper until everything is evenly coated
- Take a wonton wrapper and place a tablespoon of the filling in the center
- Wet the edges of the wrapper with water and fold in half, pressing the edges together to seal them
- Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling
- Bring a pot of water to a boil and steam the Ha Kao for 5-7 minutes until the wrappers are translucent and the filling is cooked through
