Ha Kao: Easy Shrimp Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups peeled and deveined shrimp
  • 1/2 cup bamboo shoots
  • 1/4 cup diced water chestnuts
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon white pepper
  • 20-25 wonton wrappers

Directions:

  1. Chop the shrimp into small pieces and combine with the bamboo shoots, water chestnuts, and green onions in a bowl
  2. Mix in the soy sauce, cornstarch, sesame oil, salt, and white pepper until everything is evenly coated
  3. Take a wonton wrapper and place a tablespoon of the filling in the center
  4. Wet the edges of the wrapper with water and fold in half, pressing the edges together to seal them
  5. Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling
  6. Bring a pot of water to a boil and steam the Ha Kao for 5-7 minutes until the wrappers are translucent and the filling is cooked through
