Hazelnut Shortbread Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup finely chopped hazelnuts, toasted
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 325°F.
- In the bowl of an electric mixer, cream the butter until it is light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add the sugar and salt and continue mixing for another 2-3 minutes.
- Gradually add the flour, mixing until just combined.
- Stir in the chopped hazelnuts.
- Press the dough into an 8-inch square baking dish, making sure it is evenly distributed.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely before cutting into squares or wedges.
Serving Suggestions:
This Hazelnut Shortbread is delightful on its own or with a cup of coffee or tea. It also makes a decadent dessert when served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and drizzled with caramel sauce. Enjoy!
